The hospital was established by the pension insurance of the Carabineros de Chile and provided medical care to members and their families. The medical equipment represented highest standard and comprised also one of the first CTs in Chile. All equipment required special, earthquake-proof installation. During the earthquake of 1985 these measures proved to be justified. Apart from the entire medical equipment hospitalia international also supplied communication technology as well as all laundry, working clothes, kitchen equipment including tableware and cutlery.
