The National Health Service (NHS) in Lanarkshire county comprises three hospitals. The New Hairmyres General Hospital (492 beds) and the Wishaw General Hospital (626 beds) were newly erected under a PFI scheme (Private Financing Initiative). For these two health facilities hospitalia international provided consultancy services and supplied the entire medical equipment and furthermore supervised the start-up process. The third hospital, namely Monklands Hospital with 535 beds, was supplied with new equipment for the radiology clinic.
